Real Wedding at Dubsdread Historic Ballroom – Lyndsey Boos and Cody Grant

ONE YEAR OUT:

How/where did you get engaged? 
We were staying at the Hawk’s Cay Resort in Duck Key, FL and participated in a dolphin encounter at our resort. During the encounter the dolphin brought a buoy over to me that said, “Will you marry me?” So, of course, that was a “Yes!” 

What are you most excited about for your wedding day?
We are most excited to celebrate with all of our family and friends! Our wedding day is such a special day so having everyone with us is what we are most looking forward to.

What aspect are you excited to plan the most? (Ceremony, food & beverages, photographer, DJ)
Since it’s the celebration after we are married planning all of the components for the reception is what we are most looking forward to! 

A FEW MONTHS OUT / PLANNING PROCESS:

How do you feel the planning is going?
I feel like the planning is going well. We were able to get most of the big items checked off the list early on and now we’re very excited to start planning the smaller more intimate details with our coordinator since we’re just under four months out.

What have you found to be more difficult than you expected?
The most difficult has been thinking of all the small items we need to get for the wedding. Everyone knows the big items but thinking about the smaller items like the guest book, signs for the gift table, card box, etc. has been the most challenging.

What has been more fun about the process than you expected?
The part that has been more fun than we expected has been thinking of where all the guests will sit at the reception. It can be overwhelming but seeing all the supportive people that will help celebrate our big day has been very exciting.

WEDDING DAY:

What was the best, most memorable part of your big day?
The most memorable part for us was the beautiful reception. Everything looked impeccable and being able to celebrate with family and friends was the best part.

If you could change one or two things about your event, what would they be? 
If I could change two things it would have been to have booked the reception for longer and then to have been on site earlier the day of the wedding. 

Is there any advice you would give other couples planning their event that you wish some-one had told you?
My advice would be to enjoy the reception! It seemed like we had just started and then the evening was over. It went by so quickly! So, just really enjoy the reception and soak it all in.
