 ONE YEAR OUT:

How/where did you get engaged? 
Thursday, November 26, 2020, was a very special day. It was our two-year anniversary and our also our first family Thanksgiving gathering at Samantha’s parents’ new home in Florida. As we all sat down to eat, Samantha’s dad made a toast to everyone being together for the holiday, and just when he finished, Rory said, “I have something to add.” Much to Samantha’s surprise, Rory got down on one knee and asked her to marry him, surrounded by the people she loves most. 

What are you most excited about for your wedding day?
We are most excited to have our family and friends all under one roof together. 

What aspect are you excited to plan the most? (Ceremony, food & beverages, photographer, DJ)
We are most excited for our scheduled tasting event so we can decide on our menu. 

A FEW MONTHS OUT / PLANNING PROCESS:

How do you feel the planning is going?
We feel like the planning is going very well. We are very fortunate and grateful that our families have been so helpful and supportive throughout the process.

What have you found to be more difficult than you expected?
Staying on top of the planning timeline has been more difficult than expected. Just when you think you’ve checked something off, the next set of decisions are right around the corner. Things just tend to sneak up! Thank goodness for David and the team at Dubsdread Catering. They really helped us keep everything on track.

What has been more fun about the process than you expected?
Surprisingly, unboxing our invitations was more exciting than we expected! I got butterflies when they arrived.

WEDDING DAY:

What was the best, most memorable part of your big day?
It’s so hard to pick just one moment, but we both agree that our final, private last dance before leaving was so intimate and special.

If you could change one or two things about your event, what would they be? 
We wouldn’t change a thing. We really felt like it was the perfect day, and that was mostly thanks to the incredible staff at Dubsdread Catering. It could not have gone any better.  

Is there any advice you would give other couples planning their event that you wish some-one had told you?
Don’t worry about what other people will like. Whether it’s the food, the music, the flowers, or anything else, as long as you are happy your joy will be contagious and everyone else will be caught up in the moment with you.
