ONE YEAR OUT:

How/where did you get engaged?
Guy proposed in his home state of North Carolina in 2021 on a beautiful Fall day after a hike off the Blue Ridge Parkway.

What are you most excited about for your wedding day?
We are most excited for all our friends and family from around the country to be in one place to celebrate.

What aspect are you excited to plan the most? (Ceremony, food & beverages, photographer, DJ)
Now that we already have the venue, Katy is most excited to plan the menu. Guy is most excited to get a custom suit.

A FEW MONTHS OUT / PLANNING PROCESS:

How do you feel the planning is going?
We felt like we had a lot to do when we first starting planning, once we booked all our vendors, we had some time to relax, but now we are getting close to needing to finalize details.

What have you found to be more difficult than you expected?
Knowing what order to do everything and when. There is just so much to do.

What has been more fun about the process than you expected?
Guy says watching Katy's excitement when she is talking about planning and all the options we can do. 

WEDDING DAY:

What was the best, most memorable part of your big day?
The ceremony. We had a friend officiate and we may be biased, but we think it was the best ceremony ever.

If you could change one or two things about your event, what would they be?
I don't want to play would've, could've, should've. Only minor things we didn't think of. We didn't think to tell our wedding party what to do once they entered the reception, we were going to have them stand behind us during the first dance but on the day, just completely forgot and they sat down. Not a big deal but communicating how you envision things happening will help everyone.

Is there any advice you would give other couples planning their event that you wish someone had told you?
Rely on your vendors for input and advice, they are the experts! Don't be afraid to ask any and every question if you're not sure. There is a lot to learn to plan a wedding.
