EIGHT MONTHS OUT FROM WEDDING DAY

How/where did you get engaged?
Erin: We got engaged on Friday, December 13th, 2019 at Northland Church, where I was singing in a Christmas concert with Central Florida Community Arts group. He proposed to me in front of the giant Christmas tree in the lobby where we always take photos after concerts, in front of my family, friends and fellow singers and guests.

What are you most excited about for your wedding day?
Erin: I’m extremely excited about getting ready with my best friends, and most importantly, walking down the aisle to him and seeing his reaction as we see each other for the first time.

What aspect are you excited to plan the most? (ceremony, food & beverages, photographer, DJ)
Erin: I’m torn between my two planning “favorites”. I’m excited to plan the ceremony, because it’s the part that counts the most to us. We’re getting to be together forever and taking a very serious step in our relationship. However, I’m also really excited to plan the decor and lighting, because I’m a firm believer that the atmosphere of an event sets the tone of everyone involved. I want to create a magical, exciting and loving ambiance that we’ll remember for a lifetime.

FOUR MONTHS OUT FROM WEDDING DAY

How do you feel the planning is going?
Erin: The planning is going really well! We’ve got the majority planned, now all we’ve got is two major decisions left, plus the little finalizations.

What have you found to be more difficult than you expected?
Erin: Figuring out the guest list has been the hardest for us, because it’s hard to leave people out. We’re very fortunate to have so many amazing people surrounding us, so it’s difficult to pick and choose.

What has been more fun about the process than you expected?
Erin: One of the fun parts that we didn’t really think was going to be fun, was planning the flower arrangements for the centerpieces and decorations. The colors are going to be beautiful, and our vendor, Pixies ‘N’ Petals, is absolutely amazing to work with.

WEDDING DAY

What was the best, most memorable part of your big day?
Nicholai: Watching her walk down the aisle
Erin: Having the double doors open up and seeing his reaction to me coming down the aisle.

If you could change one or two things about your event, what would they be?
Erin: Having more of our family attend. COVID-19 definitely cut our guest list down by two thirds. That, and probably adding one more hour to our big day, so we could have it go by just a little slower.

Is there any advice you would give other couples planning their event that you wish someone had told you?
Erin: Some situations may seem like a big deal at the time, but at the end of the day...it’s just about the two of you getting married. Don’t sweat the small stuff! Just enjoy your moment and the most important thing, the ceremony!
