Spotlight on Just Blow It Blow Dry Bar and Beauty Bus Orlando

Erica Morgan, co-owner of Just Blow It Blow Dry Bar and Beauty Bus hair and makeup services, is one of our partners dedicated to making your special day perfect.

Here she shares her experience and most frequently asked questions:

1. How long have you been in the industry?
   Our Just Blow It Blow Dry Bar storefront has been open since June 2015. In January 2019, we decided to expand with the Just Blow It Beauty Bus, a mobile concierge hair and makeup service.  
   
   
2. How many events do you do annually?
   In theory, we can service up to four different weddings on a given day at the Blow Dry Bar and another two with the Beauty Bus. On average, we have been a part of about 40 to 50 weddings a year between the Beauty Bus and the Blow Dry Bar, and we are still growing! 
   
   
3. How many other events do you prepare for per month?
   April and May are historically very busy for us due to proms and graduations. September is big for homecoming events. We also get busy for sorority formals and semi formals, corporate and charity balls, military balls, company Christmas parties, bachelorette parties, and birthdays all year long. 
   
   
4. What is your favorite part of the whole process?  
   The transformation and reveal is the best part. Some of the people we service for special events never get dolled up and it's so fun to see the happiness in their face when they look in the mirror and can’t believe the transformation. 
   
   
5. What kind of packages do you offer?
   Our Bridal Hair and Makeup package for in-store service is $250, which includes trial run. Beauty Bus prices are dependent on date, time, location, number in party, and more, however the typical price for Bridal Hair and Makeup on the Bus is $150 per person, plus additional $125 for a trial run at our storefront. 
   
   
6. How far in advance do you recommend couples book their hair and makeup?
   As soon as you have a date! Popular times of year for us are February, April, May, October, and November. If your big day falls during that time, we recommend at least eight to ten months in advance. Since we are still growing with the Beauty Bus, there may be availability with shorter notice for that service. Always check with us, no matter what, as we are constantly adjusting our schedule. 
   
   
7. What advice do you give to brides when choosing a stylist for their wedding day?
   Find someone who makes you feel like you. Being comfortable with the person you are working with is so important. You'll first few hours of the most important day of your life are often spent with this person, so you want to like them and help set your mood for the rest of the day and for your group. Aside from that, ask your friends for referrals, read reviews, and check out their work on social media.  
   
   
8. What is a pet peeve of yours during the wedding process? (something clients may not be aware of)
   It would definitely be expectations. In the age of social media, it has become a bit difficult to compete with photoshopped images and managing expectations. Clients may show us a picture of a hairstyle with a braid, on a blonde, with extensions when they are a brunette with shorter hair and no extensions. We like to say, follow the photo as inspiration but be prepared for a different result. It’s not that it won’t be beautiful, it’s that sometimes you need to be realistic about outcomes. It’s one of the reasons we offer Bridal Trials, as this is the time to discuss, practice, and work to bring your vision to life. 
   
   
9. What sets you apart from other companies?
   One thing that makes us different is our efficiency and the ability to service a large number of people, large groups, and multiple weddings in one day. So even if we have another event or wedding booked on the same day, it is likely we can still be a part of your day. Sometimes, a bride’s date will end up being a popular day with others as well, and maybe they don’t get the florist they want or the photographer, but because of our flexibility, we can assure that more brides will still get the hair and makeup services from us they want, even if it’s one of those days. We recently completed a wedding with a party of 24 people in just four hours! Plus, using Beauty Bus can accommodate eight people at a time and have them in and out with hair and makeup in just 90 minutes. Leaving more time for the bridal party to enjoy the day.
