Instead of enduring the mosquitos in the Florida evenings, imagine your photos lightened by the golden sunrise as you say, “I do!” to the love of your life. A brunch wedding is the perfect way to do so while celebrating your big day and keeping things on the casual side. As brunch in general is becoming more popular, so too are brunch weddings and events. Brides are still worried about what a timeline looks like and if they will be able to fit everything they want into it. With our help, planning a brunch wedding will be a breeze and will be something to talk about for years to come!

Timing: The time of your wedding will play a key role in how you plan out the rest of your day. Brunch is generally served between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., so a guest arrival of 10 a.m. or 11 a.m. is ideal. Also keep in mind how early you and your wedding party are going to have to wake up to prepare for your big day, as well as when the sun will be in the perfect place for outdoor photos.

Dress Code: Because the morning time typically sets a more mellow tone, feel free to loosen the dress code a little bit and allow your guests to be more comfortable. This may include jeans, sundresses, or classy rompers. Also keep in mind that the weather might be completely different at 10 a.m. than it is as 2 p.m., so dress accordingly and maybe wear some layers that you can take off as the day goes on.

Food: When planning a brunch wedding, you are most likely not going to want to serve your guests the same food as if you were planning an evening event. So, try to lean more towards food that fits the theme, while keeping it fun! Try including an omelet bar where guests can choose their own ingredients, some bacon and hash browns as a delicious side (or as a main course, we don’t judge,) scrambled eggs, or even some avocado toast. However, if breakfast foods aren’t your thing, some light sandwiches, fruits, and finger foods will do the trick.

Drinks: It’s a good idea to keep the drinks on the lighter side. Be sure to include tons of coffee with assorted creamer flavors, various fresh juices, teas, and maybe even some hot chocolate. And of course, if you’re including a bar at your wedding, make sure to incorporate some morning favorites such as Bloody Marys, mimosas, Irish coffees, or screwdrivers. You can always step it up a notch and allow your guests to create their own drinks by adding a mimosa or Bloody Mary station as well!

Different Desserts: Instead of going with the traditional wedding cake, a brunch wedding is the perfect way to bring something different to the table while still divulging the sweet tooth. Your desserts can be sweet breakfast foods such as French toast, muffins, pancakes, or cinnamon rolls. Or, you can do a donut/donut hole bar and some strawberry banana pancake skewers. The possibilities are endless!

After Party: Although the wedding may be over, that doesn’t mean the celebration has to be. With a brunch wedding typically ending around 2 or 3 p.m., that means you have the rest of the day to keep partying with your friends and family. Look up some things that are happening locally that you may be able to do with your loved ones, such as happy hour at nearby bars, local festivals going on, or even head to a theme park if one is close by! If you’d prefer a more intimate setting, you may rent a room or hall and host an after party where you are able to get more one on one time with your guests.
