SEVEN MONTHS OUT

How/where did you get engaged?
We got engaged at Leu Gardens in Winter Park. We went there on a double date with my sister and her boyfriend right before everything shut down for COVID-19. One minute we were walking under the gazebo, and the next he was on one knee proposing. It was such an exciting day!

What are you most excited about for your wedding day? 
We're definitely the most excited about gathering our closest family and friends together under one roof to celebrate.

What aspect are you excited to plan the most? (ceremony, food & beverages, photographer, DJ) 
We're the most excited to plan the ceremony. Trevor's dad is officiating our wedding, so we're really looking forward to having a more personal exchange of vows with someone who knows us really well. But the party afterwards is also going to be so fun to plan!

FOUR MONTHS OUT

How do you feel the planning is going?
So far so good! We’ve booked most of our vendors and we’re hoping to be finished by December, so we have some time to relax before the big day comes in February. We just can’t believe how quickly the wedding is approaching.

What have you found to be more difficult than you expected?
We knew from the beginning that planning a wedding during a pandemic was going to be difficult. It seems that some of our guests are uncomfortable with traveling here during this crazy time we’re living in. Of course, we don’t blame them at all. It’s just unfortunate that our day might be missing a few very important people.

What has been more fun about the process than you expected?
There are so many little details we just didn’t think of in the beginning of planning, and we’ve found that making decisions on those little personal touches has been really fun to do together.

WEDDING DAY

What was the best, most memorable part of your big day?
The ceremony was the best! Even though it rained, and we couldn't have it out by the big tree at The Highland Manor, it was still such a special ceremony and we read our own vows in a more intimate setting.

If you could change one or two things about your event, what would they be?
Absolutely nothing! It was a perfect day.

Is there any advice you would give other couples planning their event that you wish someone had told you?
Your vendors can make a big difference when your day comes. Really take the time and do the research. It will definitely be worth it in the end. We loved ours, but we really took our time selecting them and it paid off!
