ONE YEAR OUT FROM WEDDING DAY

How/where did you get engaged?
My fiancé (Yefim) and I got engaged at Swan Resort in Walt Disney World. It was the last night of a weekend getaway. We were watching the fireworks from our balcony and Yefim asked me if I thought the date August 18, 2018 (08, 18, 2018) seemed like a special day to remember. When I turned around, to say yes it was to me, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I was so excited that before I even said, "I do" I asked him, "are you sure?!" He nodded and then I gave him a big kiss and said YES! 

What are you most excited about for your wedding day?
That "husband and wife" kiss! I am also excited about the first look and seeing how all of the lighting, decorations, and food come together at the reception.

What aspect are you excited to plan the most? (ceremony, food & beverages, photographer, DJ)
Photography, food and ceremony!

THREE MONTHS OUT FROM WEDDING DAY

How do you feel the planning is going?
Considering COVID-19 is messing up some of our original ideas, all in all, planning seems to be going well and in a timely manner

What have you found to be more difficult than you expected?
My only cause for frustration at this point is that I feel like there is a lot depending on me to determine, from the decorations, to food choices, to the songs to dance to, plus helping select his groomsmen’s' outfits for the. I thought Yefim would be more proactive than he has been, but since he trusts me in everything, I find that he has turned a lot more over to me than I originally thought.

What has been more fun about the process than you expected?
Making our wedding website has been way more fun and something we absolutely have enjoyed doing together that I wasn’t expecting to enjoy this much.

WEDDING DAY

What was the best, most memorable part of your big day?
My most memorable moment was the first look reveal and vows for me. Yefim said it was the anticipation and waiting for me to come down the aisle.

If you could change one or two things about your event, what would they be?
Honestly, there is absolutely nothing we would change!

Is there any advice you would give other couples planning their event that you wish someone had told you?
Advice Yefim would give is to not party too hard the night before the wedding. He struggled a bit the morning of the wedding getting himself collected and energized, but lucky for him, he didn't have hours of getting hair and makeup done like I did. I kept my partying to two nights before the wedding, so I was well rested for the wedding and enjoyed my time getting ready.
