Fairbanks Florist owner

Here she shares her experience and most frequently asked questions:

  1. How long have you been in the industry?
Fairbanks Florist was established in 1981 and is celebrating 39 years of providing Central Florida with excellence in floral design and customer service. I purchased Fairbanks Florist in 1987 so I feel blessed to have owned it for 33 of those 39 years.
  2. How many weddings do you do annually?
On average, we do about 100 weddings a year, plus an additional 20 additional events per month including showers and corporate events.
  3. What is your favorite part of the wedding process?
I love the close relationships I form with my clients. Many of these turn into lasting friendships.
  4. How would you describe your style?
Floral Couture, luxurious designs, creative and unique floral interpretations suited for my client’s individual flower personality.
  5. What kind of packages do you offer?
Weddings are all about personal style and budget. We approach our floral relationships from the standpoint of what are your floral needs and what is your budget. Then we customize and help prioritize the floral choices specifically for each client based on this. While we don’t offer set packages, each client ultimately ends up with a unique package that is perfect for them. No wedding is too small or too big, we love them all!
  6. How far in advance do you recommend couples book a florist?
As soon as they know they need one! We book up quickly and every year there tends to be a few special dates everyone wants, so I say the sooner the better, especially if you are seeking a specific florist you know you want to work with.
  7. What advice do you give to couples when choosing a florist?
Make sure they have a good reputation and have a good standing in the business community. Search the internet to find and read reviews. Make sure they are listening to your needs and responsive when you call or email. Look for a connection - do you trust this person? Do you believe they have your vision? Do other vendors recommend them?
  8. What is a pet peeve of yours during the wedding process?
I can’t say that comes up for me. I am pretty easy going and my passion shows in my work and connections with people. I love people, so I think I attract clients that are the same way and the end result is beautiful floral collaborations and relationships.
  9. What sets you apart from other florists?
My ability to create a wide range of floral styles and designs that appeal to a broad audience. I don’t have a specific look that you see time and time again. I can create any floral “look” as well as designs that haven’t even been realized. I believe the draw for my clients who work with me is the romance and sensibility of working with me. I can read peoples floral personalities, add-on that I am flower expert, and it all just flows effortlessly through me to my clients and my creations.
