SIX MONTHS OUT FROM WEDDING DAY

How/where did you get engaged?

We got engaged in Central Park in New York City on the Bow Bridge right before Thanksgiving. We were in New York for the holidays to visit with family.

What are you most excited about for your wedding day?

Other than the whole getting married part, I think we are looking forward to the first look and our first dance as a married couple.

What aspect are you excited to plan the most? (ceremony, food & beverages, photographer, DJ)

We are most excited about planning the ceremony. The important part where we agree to love, honor, and cherish each other.

FOUR MONTHS OUT FROM WEDDING DAY

How do you feel the planning is going?

Planning is going well. What has been a bit stressful is that we were planning on 100 guests for our wedding, but we may have to limit it based on COVID protocols and it’s nerve wracking to have these different lists and numbers, which affects so many other things.

What have you found to be more difficult than you expected?

It’s just very hard to plan for tables and decorations without knowing whether we’ll be hosting 10 or 100 guests. Other than the guest list, picking music has been more difficult than we expected.

What has been more fun about the process than you expected?

The meeting at the venue was more fun than expected. I was able to bring my parents to show them around and Bonny really put my mind at ease. I considered myself a pretty calm bride but COVID concerns have thrown my usual chill demeanor to the other side of the room!

WEDDING DAY

What was the best, most memorable part of your big day?

The first look was even better than I expected. The anticipation, the quiet moment together, it was wonderful.

If you could change one or two things about your event, what would they be?

I would have added another hour, or maybe even two hours, for pre-wedding photography. I would like to have more action shots, getting ready shots, and group shots to capture those special moments.

Is there any advice you would give other couples planning their event that you wish someone had told you?

One thing I did that worked exceptionally well, was I extended the makeup artist’s time so she could do touchups right up to the ceremony, which was so helpful. I wish I had added another hour though, so that she could have done touch ups for our first dance photos as well. Also, the whole day goes by WAY too fast so be sure to take time together to have special moments you'll remember and breathe it all in.
