An Interview with Vendor Partner “I Now Pronounce You” Wedding Officiant Services

Darrin Schifrel’s “I Now Pronounce You” has been in the wedding event business for over 30 years. He is known for his custom and personalized ceremonies that blend storytelling with heartfelt sentiment.

Here Darrin shares his experience and answers to some frequently asked questions:  

What is your favorite part of the planning process? 

I am a big romantic, so I LOVE hearing how each couple met and got engaged. Seeing the big smiles on the bride and groom's faces as they talk about each other … their wedding never gets old to me. I also enjoy getting to know my couples.

What kind of packages do you offer? 

We have three different packages. One is an all-inclusive, and another is for an elopement ceremony. The 3rd package is if we are needed for a rehearsal. We also offer sound systems for ceremonies if needed.

What sets you apart from other officiants, and what advice do you want to give couples when choosing an officiant? 

Look for a company with a lot of experience in their field and one that your other vendors are familiar with. We get recommendations from many photographers because they are familiar with our work and love the “wow” factor that can be added to their photos. Or event planners because they know we can transform an underutilized or “dead” area with something that engages and adds fun and dimension. A quick response from the beginning is also important. You do not want to have to wait too long to hear back from a vendor, and it could be indicative of a very frustrating experience from start to finish.

How would you describe your company? 

We are blessed that there are so many wonderful officiants in the Central Florida area to choose from. It's so important that a couple chooses the one they mesh with and that gets them. They are going to make the ceremony exactly the way they want it to be. They should include all the elements a couple wants and not anything they do not want. The ceremonies we perform are not boring. We make sure the ceremony we perform is full of romance and tells each couple's love story.

How far in advance do you recommend clients book your services for their event? 

We only book one event per day, so the further out we are booked, the better!
